This recipe for Baked Wild Salmon Patties (also known as salmon cakes or, when you want to sound fancy, salmon croquettes) is suuuuuch a deliciously easy way to transform a tin of wild red salmon into a truly flavourful and satisfying meal.

I think that seafood, and salmon in particular, is the perfect choice for a healthy weeknight supper. But if you’re like me, you don’t always have fillets stocked in your fridge. And it’s certainly not always possible to run out to the market whenever the seafood craving strikes.

I do keep a well stocked pantry however, which means there are always plenty of canned goods, included tins of delicious salmon, within an arm’s reach. And that is why I am so excited about this Baked Salmon Patties recipe.

Made with Princes Wild Pacific Alaska Red Canned Salmon, these delectable salmon patties are super flaky, tender on the inside and delightfully crispy on the outside. And they are packed with bold flavour, thanks to the addition of Thai curry paste, green onions, cilantro and lemon zest.

But the very best part just may be how simple it is to get these salmon patties baked. Just mix together all the ingredients, form into patties, and pop them into the oven. And in less than 30 mins, you have an amazingly tasty, super nutritious and completely satisfying meal. Yeap.

So, are you ready to learn how to make these delicious Baked Salmon Patties? Then gather up your ingredients and I will show you….

How To Make Baked Salmon Patties

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F / 190 C / gas 5
  2. Open salmon tins, drain and remove any bones (you can also leave them in if you prefer. I personally like the bones).
  3. Add to bowl along with rest of ingredients.
  4. Mix and form into 6 uniformly sized patties.
  5. Place on baking tray and spray lightly with low calorie spray.
  6. Bake for 15-20 mins.

How To Make Salmon Patties In The Air Fryer

These baked salmon patties can easily be made in your air fryer. All that is needed is a slight adjustment to the temperature and cook time. To make air fryer salmon patties:

  1. Preheat oven to 360 F / 180 C
  2. Open salmon tins, drain and remove bones.
  3. Add to bowl along with rest of ingredients.
  4. Mix and form into 6 uniformly sized patties.
  5. Place patties inside air fryer basket and spray lightly with low calorie spray.
  6. Bake for 4-5 mins on each side.

And remember that air fryer temperatures may vary depending on the make and model. Start off with less cook time, check and add more time if needed.

It is important to always check your food for doneness using a meat thermometer. Salmon is safe to eat when the internal temperature reaches at least 145 F.

Tips For Making Baked Wild Salmon Patties

  • Make sure to form salmon patties that are equal size so they will cook evenly and at the same rate.
  • Feel free to change up the flavours to suit your taste. Swap the Thai curry paste for Old Bay Seasoning. Or add in some fresh chopped dill and thyme instead of cilantro.
  • You can easily serve these salmon patties as an appetiser by forming smaller bite-sized patties.

These salmon patties sound delicious and perfect for a tasty healthy supper. The flavours sound like they go great together, and add a little more than your regular fishcakes. I find canned salmon very useful if you cannot always get fresh, and great for a quick and easy meal from the pantry.

I love that these salmon patties are so easy to make. The addition of Thai red curry paste must give them a great flavour. Not sure I can find this brand in Italy but I’ll look out for it!
