  • Stove-top method: Add them to a skillet over medium heat and toast nuts for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until slightly darkened with a nutty flavor and fragrant aroma.

  • Oven method: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C / gas mark 4, add pecan halves in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet, and roast nuts for 5-10 minutes, shaking them carefully or turning them with a spatula halfway through so they roast evenly.

  • Please keep an eye on the nuts while cooking. They can go from perfect to burnt in the blink of an eye.
  • This recipe makes enough for 3-4 people; If you want more, then you can easily double or triple the recipe.
  • Feel free to toss pecans with melted butter or olive oil for extra flavor.
  • Add seasonings – add your favorite herbs and spices for extra savory flavor. Garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika are good choices.
  • Make them sweet – coat them with maple syrup, honey, or cinnamon sugar.
