This Instant Pot Ramen recipe is seriously sooooooo easy to make. A true dump and start recipe, all that’s needed is to toss in all of the ingredients, set it, then sit back and let the Instant Pot do the work.

Ramen noodles have become increasingly popular, with specialty ramen shops popping up all over. No longer just cheap food for students on a budget, ramen has reached high-end culinary trend status. And I, for one, am quite happy about this.

Recipe : Instant Pot Potato Soup.

But if you live outside the city or are a full-fledged country dweller like me, there is no local artisan ramen noodle bar to pop into whenever the craving strikes. Thankfully, owning an Instant Pot means you can quickly and easily whip up your very own delectable bowl of ramen in no time at all. #instantpotforthewin

This recipe for Instant Pot Ramen is full of fantastic flavor. And to really up the umami factor, go beyond the plain old button mushroom and choose a mushroom (or a combination of mushrooms) with a distinctive flavor profile. I looooooove the rich, buttery, almost meaty quality that shiitake mushrooms add to these ramen noodles.

Instant Pot Ramen Recipes Tips

  • If you want your ramen to be soupier, then add an extra cup of veggie stock.
  • To save even more time, you can make this recipe using frozen veggies instead of fresh. So easy!
  • Try topping your ramen with a sliced hard-boiled egg to give it truly authentic flair.
  • If you are watching your salt intake, opt for low-sodium soy sauce or tamari.
  • If not vegan, feel free to use chicken or beef stock to make your Instant Pot Ramen broth.

Chef’s Tip ==> the cook time noted does not include time for the Instant Pot to come up to pressure or for the pressure to release.

Recipe Variations

  • Make it hearty: add tofu, or if not vegan, diced chicken or pork.
  • Add more veggies: carrots, bell pepper, radishes, and baby greens are all great additions.
  • Make it spicy: for those who like a little heat, toss in a handful of red pepper flakes, sliced jalapeños, or some sriracha sauce.

FAQs

What Are Ramen Noodles Made Of?

Traditional ramen noodles are made from a dough consisting of wheat flour, water, and salt. But there is one element that makes ramen noodles unique.

An alkaline water called kansui is what gives ramen noodles their unique curly appearance and elastic texture.

There is also a variety of rice ramen noodles made using a combination of brown rice flour and white rice flour. Rice ramen cooks the same way as traditional ramen, and is a great option for those following a gluten free diet.

What Are The Different Types of Mushrooms?

There is a vast array of edible mushrooms available, and each one has its own unique flavor profile. Here are some of the most popular and versatile varieties on the market:

Cremini – These mushrooms are a light shade of brown and have a nice mild taste.
Enoki – Native to Japan, these mushrooms have long thing stems and tiny caps. They are quite crisp and go nicely in salads or soups.
Porcini – Commonly used in Italian cuisine, these mushrooms have a slightly nutty and creamy flavor and texture.
Portobello – A large mushroom with a meaty texture that holds up well to a range of cooking methods.
Oyster – These provide a delicate and sweet flavor that is a nice accompaniment to other mushroom varieties.
Shiitake – Because they add umami flavor, shiitake mushrooms are predominant in Asian cuisine.

What Are the Health Benefits of Mushrooms?

Not only do mushrooms add tons of flavor to Instant Pot Ramen Recipes, but there also are several health benefits of mushrooms.

Mushrooms are low carb and high in protein and fiber. Plus, they contain B vitamins and Selenium, which is a powerful antioxidant that supports the immune system and can help prevent damage to cells and tissues.
