Why Make This Recipe
- Quick – This is quick and easy to cook in the air fryer.
- Feeds a Smaller Crowd – Feed your family and your friends.
- Saves Space – When preparing Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holiday meals, cooking a ham in air fryer will free up that precious oven space for all your other dishes.

Ingredient Notes
You only need a few ingredients to make this delicious main dish.
- Ham – This starts with a fully cooked, boneless ham. I tend to cook a small ham in the air fryer due to the air fryer basket size.
- Honey – Make sure the honey is runny. If not then warm it up to melt it before using.
- Juice – Orange juice or pineapple juice works well here.
- Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon adds a fragrant twist.
- Mustard powder – Adds savory flavor and some bite.

How To Cook Ham In The Air Fryer

- Preheat air fryer to 325 degrees F / 170 degrees C.
- Wrap ham in aluminum foil, making sure the overlapping foil sheets are on the top so you can open during cooking.
- Transfer ham to the air fryer basket and air fry for 20 minutes.
- In the meantime, in a small bowl mix together honey, orange juice, cinnamon and mustard powder.
- When the 20 minutes is up, open up the ham and brush the sweet glaze all over the ham. Then close up the foil and air fry for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F / 60 degrees C.
- Open the foil and air fryer ham for a further 5 – 8 minutes or until glaze is nicely golden brown brown.
- Remove from air fryer and let the ham rest for 15 minutes before carving.
Cooking time can vary depending on the air fryer make and model and the size of the ham.
Recipe Tips
- Make sure to take the whole cooked ham out of the refrigerator an hour before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
- It’s important that your ham fits comfortably in the air fryer and does not touch the heating element. If this is the case, you might need to slice off some bits of the ham to make it fit.
- It is best to cook the ham in aluminum foil for part of the air frying so that it remains juicy and does not dry out.
Plus…..
- Note that thinner flatter hams will cook quicker than rounder deeper hams.
- Make sure that there is enough space for the air to circulate all around and properly cook the ham.
- Feel free to score the ham by making criss-cross cuts in the surface of the ham so it crisps up nicely.
Delicious Variations
- Add spices – cook air fried ham with spices like ground cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg for a fragrant twist.
- Add heat – with red pepper flakes, cayenne, chipotle, etc.
- Vary the glaze – feel free to use a brown sugar glaze instead.
Storage, Meal Prep and Prep Ahead
This Cooked Ham Recipe was practically made for meal prep and prepping ahead.
- Prep Ahead – The ham can be cooked several days in advance and used when needed.
- Store – Store your air fryer boneless ham in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- Freeze – You can freeze cooled cooked ham for up to 2 months.
This depends on the size of the ham and the shape. For a 2-3 pound ham, you will need about 40- 50 minutes.
Also, a thinner flatter ham will cook quicker than a rounder deeper one.
Air fried ham is great for leftovers. Use it to make this Leftover Ham Casserole, and Ham Roll Ups.

Thanks for this. I was wonder how I would cook our 2 lb. ham for Easter.
I generally do in oven with a dry mustard, maple syrup and ACV paste after inserting several cloves into the ham. I’ll probably do the same for the air fryer version.
