Plus, since everything goes in at the same time, it is so, so much more hands off than made-on-the-stove-top iced tea and the results are guaranteed. Every. Single. Time.

Even better is the fact that it is immensely adaptable, especially handy with all those fruits about to come into our lives. So, so handy which is why I will show you three versions of Pressure Cooker Iced Tea below.

Oh and this can be turned into an extra special tipple (for those after-the-kiddoes-have-gone-to-bed drink moments). Simply add in a shot or two of gin or vodka for your very own Iced cocktail! Ain’t nothing better.

Make Stove Top Iced Tea

If you don’t have an Instant Pot then you can still make stove top iced tea.

  1. Place the teabags in a heatproof jug and pour in the just boiled water, let steep for 10 mins before discarding the tea bags.
  2. Stir in the calorie-free sweetener or sugar into the warm tea and set aside to cool.
  3. Refrigerate for a few hours and serve over ice.

Recipe Tea Tips

  • Start with 4 tea bags but if you prefer a stronger tea you can add up to 6 teabags instead.
  • It is essential that you remove the tea bags after you have QPR as if you leave them to steep longer the tea could become bitter.
  • If using a calorie-free sweetener, adjust the amount to your desired sweetness. A sweetener like Swerve will measure the same as sugar, but a sweetener like stevia will require far less (start with 1 tsp stevia and increase if desired).
  • If you think you might not get the tea bags out quickly, then people recommend adding a pinch of baking soda to reduce any bitter flavour.
  • The strawberry juice is really thick and will separate and sit on top of the ice tea. You will have fun with two layers of drink.

Instant Pot Decaffeinated Iced Tea

I actually prefer decaffeinated Iced Tea instead and so I use rooibos tea instead of black tea. Also using rooibos teas minimizes the chance that the tea will go bitter if you forget to remove the tea bag after cooking. However, feel free to experiment with various decaffeinated tea brands till you find the one that works for you Instant Pot Iced Tea.

Instant Pot Iced Green Tea

To make this an Instant Pot Iced Green Tea, just swap the black tea for some green tea instead. That. Is. It.

3 glasses of Instant Pot Iced Tea with fruits and garnish

Instant Pot Raspberry Iced Tea

Simply swap your strawberries for raspberries to make some Instant Pot Raspberry Iced Tea. You may need to add a little extra sweetener as raspberries can be quite tart.

I made this thinking that it probably still won’t taste as good as my fav store bought iced tea… Boy was I wrong! It’s SO GOOD. Not onlydoes it taste better, but I can customize the flavor and the amount of sugar I add. I’ve made 2 batches in the last 24 hours Thank you so much for this recipe.

Great post! My favorite recipe would be the roibos for the flavor and because it’d decaf, I’ combine it with the clementines, what a flavorful and refreshing iced tea!
